I first played this game with a friend who bought it at a local gaming convention. It was a very fun game, however the replay value is not the greatest. Once you play through all the cards (which can take less than ten games) you’ve got them pretty well much memorized, particularly the ones that made you go “Really? that was invented/discovered in THAT year? I thought it was invented sooner/later!” the first time you played them. However, I was told by the vendor that expansion packs are in the works, and once those come out, should add to the replay value of this game.

Despite its problems with replay value, this game is great to help your older kids (and yourselves, as well) bone up on their history.

Friends and I played this the other night. All enjoyed the game. Four of us played through the stack of 109 cards in three games; I agree with another post that you can probably learn the cards (i.e. the dates of the inventions) in about ten games, so for the cost of a movie ticket you and your friends get a history lesson. I’m looking forward to the expansion packs. The version I bought came in a very nice metal box and some teaser cards from future sets (monuments, art and literature, etc). The pictures are lovely, but the cards are a little small.
