2. reversed 7 of cups
4. page of cups

Cups represent emotions, creativity, and water. To have so many cups in one spread suggests either that the issue is related to creativity. That is, the answer to your problems may lie in your own creativity.

Or they may mean that you should look to your own feelings and emotions. Be honest with yourself and others about your feelings. And be aware of and sensitive to the feelings of others.

Look to the emotional issues of the question.

Okay I have to write a short story for school and the story involves tarot cards. I have researched a lot on tarot cards but the only thing I still need to know are tarot spreads. Lets say a person randomly walks into a fortune teller’s shop and wants a tarot card reading.
Basically, how do you pick cards to put in a spread?
You can shuffle, mix them up, cut them however you want, throw them. You don’t have to do something different for each spread.
Try using a couple ways and seeing which you like best.

Can I use tarot spreads for cartomancy?

I want to learn cartomancy. i dont know how to do it. is there spreads like tarot? do you use tarot spreads? also can i have a link to a site with the meanings of the cards? or are the meanings the same as the tarot minor arcana, if so please tell me the corresponding suit.

TarotTrumps answers:

You can definitely use tarot spreads for readings with regular playing cards. But there are spreads that have been developed for cartomancy. There are different techniques. Some use all 52 cards, others, like the Lenormand system use only 36. I found Secondhand-Souls-4occult.com by just doing a search on cartomancy. It has some basic info using all 52 cards and spreads.

I like Mlle. Lenormand’s Fortune Telling site (see link below) for learning some basics about Lenormand Oracle cards and their meanings. Although you can buy a deck with special pictures on it to help you remember the meanings, you can just use a regular playing deck and just remove the cards that are not used.

I wasn’t able to learn all I wanted from the Internet so I got “Fortune-Telling with Playing Cards” by Jonathan Dee, from the library. It gave me enough info to figure out what kind of cartomancy I wanted to learn more about. Plus it has meanings for the cards and suits as well as different spreads used with different card reading systems.

The meanings of the suits are not exactly the same as tarot. You can just read them as the same (Clubs=Wands; Spades=Swords; Hearts=Cups; Diamond=Pentacles) as long as you are consistent. That way your subconscious (or whatever you believe you’re working with when reading cards) knows what the symbols mean to you.

Tarot people: 2 of swords, Ace of wands and 10 of coins/pentacles?

Can’t fully crack the meaning of this reading, since I am only just now getting fully acquainted with all the minor arcana. I asked whether this person was going to get married during the next 12 months, and got the 2 of Swords for an answer, and the Ace of wands and the 10 of coins, by this order, for further explaining into the future.

Help please! Tk you!
Wow now I actually got the 4 of wands itself.. I guess that is a capital yes, right!?
Man I still have a lot of training to do on this. The cards just never tell me, it’s like it either wont happen at all, or it’s still in secrecy. It could be related to the fact that I am not exactly all that into getting married anyway, and as for the work endeavour.. yes it has already started, I’m applying for a PhD overseas. I love this person like I never loved anyone before, but marriage is a bit way out of my comfort zone, for now at least. I’m 29 …still have a lot to do with my life, and only this one to do it! Settling down into a married woman’s life can wait until I’m done with a few projects first! Being with him again this next year would already be great, I’ll be busier than ever, but never too busy for what could be the love of my life, at least to date! lol We’ll see… Thank you so much for your answer, it was really helpful.. and may God provide indeed!

I don’t see marriage in these cards.
You’ve 3 cards and 3 element here (air, fire and earth).
The element that is missing is water so nothing about relationships or feelings.

2 of Swords is a agreement, contract or binding.
Ace of wands can be new home or job.
10 of Pentacles is a good card for money but more so in the long term not immediate future.

I’d say you’ll be going overseas for the PhD and it should setup you up well in life.

The study of the reversed cards is best left to those who fully grasp the meanings of the upright cards. When you include the reversed meanings, basically it means that you are studying a 156 card deck!

Plus, the positions of the cards in relation to each other make things even more complex.

That is just too much for a novice. The upright meanings alone can be confusing enough. I recommend learning the basics before adding the more complex, advanced interpretations.

TarotTrumps answers:

Please do not consolidate. It is not free, they will lower your payments by increasing the length of time until you are debt free, and you will take a hit on your credit score. Or they negotiate your debt down after telling you not to pay for awhile adding another hit to your credit score. Student loans are the only debt that can garnish your wages for non payment without taking you to court first. Just list them out on a piece of paper or a spreadsheet and follow the plan. If you work the plan, the plan will work for you.

A. Have a garage sale and sell anything that you no longer need or want.

B.Get a temporary part time job, if you have one, get another.

Here is a plan that can help you. If you work the plan, the plan will work for you:
1. Make a budget. Make the budget a week before you get paid. A budget is not a punishment! It is a tool which will free you from ever having to worry about money again. Put everything in your budget. Especially those annual, biannual, or quarterly bills like car registration, insurance, etc. Give every dollar you are going to bring home the name of where it is going. Add an “emergency fund” category to your budget for 25 dollars and save up until you have 1000-1250 dollars. Your emergency fund will help keep you from getting into new debt because of an emergency. If you can, set up a direct transfer to a savings account for your emergency fund. That way it moves automatically and you don’t even have to worry about it. You must cut your spending and live on less than you make.

2.First get current on all of you debts and make no more late payments. Stop using your credit cards immediately. Do not take on any more debt. Credit cards are like quicksand only the death is much slower. Make a list of all of your debts in order of highest interest rate to lowest interest. Use cash only for your spending from now on.

3.Pay the minimum due on all of your debts and then put your extra money towards paying off the highest interest one first. After you get that one paid off, you put the money you were paying on debt #1 (the minimum payment and the extra payment) towards debt #2. That will pay debt #2 off faster. When that is paid off, you put all three payments towards card #3 and that one will be paid off pretty quickly. As an example:

To start :
Debt #1 (highest interest): minimum payment+ extra payment
Debt #2 (middle interest): minimum payment
Debt #3(lowest interest): minimum payment

Debt #1: paid off
Debt #2: minimum payment from Debt #1+ Minimum payment from Debt #2 +extra payment
Debt #3: minimum payment

Debt #1: paid off
Debt #2: paid off
Debt #3:Minimum payment from card #1+ minimum payment from Debt #2+ minimum payment from Debt #3+ extra payment.

That way, you will get them all paid off, on time, and pay the least interest. It will also help towards rebuilding your credit since you will no longer have any late payments. This works no matter how many different debts you may have.

4. After you get all of your debts paid off, add to your emergency fund until you have 6-12 months of income saved up. Put that emergency fund money into a liquid money market fund or into a Bank of America no-risk CD so that if you need the money you can take it out without penalty.

5a. When you have your emergency fund in place, add a category for “fun” to your budget. Save for a holiday, a vacation, a big screen, or dinners out, whatever goal you want. Remember to enjoy your life.

5b. When you have your emergency fund in place, start saving for your retirement. Join the 401(k) plan at work and contribute the maximum. Your employer probably matches at least part of your contribution so why give up free money? Open a Roth IRA and contribute the maximum on a monthly basis. If you start saving for your retirement now, you will probably retire a millionaire.

5c. When you have your emergency fund in place, start saving for your next car. Only buy cars, or other things that depreciate, with cash. Save up for a nicer car. That way you get the interest instead of paying the interest.

You can do it and it isn’t as hard as you think. Just follow the plan.

Questions about the tarot?

To cut it short, I have 2 decks of tarot cards. And I feel that one of the decks suits me better.

By suits me better, I mean that the results I get from it is very consistant like, when the ask the same question, almost the same cards come out, like the suit of swords always comes out for example, or the suit of wands, and I feel like very comfortable with it. Lets call this deck no.1

The other deck’s results is not consistant. Deck no.2

Physically speaking. Is it possible to make an indistructable suit of armor?

Traditionally a better proverbial “Sword”, would be considered superior and more coveted than better armor. As the best defense is a good offense. I believe the answer to world peace is better armor. Surley the bigger person is so strong that you could throw everything you’ve got at them, they still stand there and therefore impose their will, by presence and war of attrition.
No, no, everyone is still thinking too small. I’m talking out of the box here…

Okay indestructible, would be just that, it has to be armor, that is not only capable of withstanding concussion blasts, missles, bullets, and chemicals, but weather. In fact, it has to be “war-proof”.

I’m picturing a tremendous mobile factory. anything that would be thrown at it, would be absorbed into soft jelly and recycled into itself.

IDK, Call it, invinceable “pillow armor”, it would literally be invinceable, rolling on giant treads, or walking on spider-like robot legs and it could be capable of absorbing incoming trajectories from missles and projectiles, even explosive warheads, into a gelatinous polymer, which would heal and regenerate, because it builds itself at a faster rate than it can be destroyed. Then after the enemy is exausted at fighting this monsterous blob, it would release stun weapons and armored suits that would mop up and nutralize enemies of the establishment with tazers.

TarotTrumps answers:

Sure you could make a suit that would survive almost anything, but enough force and you could still turn the human body inside to a sack of meat pudding.

Concussion is actually a more lethal killer than shrapnel or projectile. Near enough to a shock wave and your internal organs turn to goop, or you heart seizes up. No amount of personal armor can be 100% eeffective against a concussive blast.

Having a walking army of human tanks is a great idea, but their is always a way around the advantage. Mobility, perception, flexibility. These are all factors. Historical Note: the battle of Agincourt ( i know this not the spelling, sorry) French knights and heavy foot soldiers both out numbered and out classed the much smaller and lighter English under Henry V. However their superior armor, which has been shown to be impervious to English arrows (the vast majority of English forces were archers) was made irrelevant because the terrain, weather and fighting conditions neutralized the advantage. With only a few casualties the lighter faster English slaughtered hundreds of knights and foot soldiers. The mud proved to be the deciding factor.

Besides once you have the better armor some one will always find a better “sword”

ADD ON! OHHHH almost like a “World Devestator”!!! Lol I know it’s not exactly what you are looking for but in a way it’s been done… Star wars: Dark Empire. It is a comic book, a really good one too. I will asume you are familiar with Star Wars, if not I apologize. After the fall of the empire the New Republic goes after the remaining strongholds. How ever the Empire has a few secret weapons left. One is a floating factory called a “World Devistator”, it literaly sucks material up and converts it in to robotic weapons/vehicles that it then uses to protect it’s self.

TarotTrumps answers:

Your half sister is suffering from some sort of addiction and is also a dark and sinister type person. There is a woman in her life who defends her and does not see the evil of her ways. Judgment in the outcome does indicate that if you have been wronged, justice is assured. Do not take revenge. Move on with your life, and stop believing you are her victim. This is where your thinking makes things go askew.

TarotTrumps answers:

What did you use as her significator? Second, I place no significance on the “reversed” position. The card is the card, and people are not always going to be consistent about how they shuffle and how they lay the cards out.

The Hanged Man represents transformation, often self-discipline. So perhaps your sister is undergoing changes, and will not seem nearly so evil to you in the near future.

The 2 of Wands seems to confirm this. In this context, it seems to represent contemplation, thoughtful self-examination.

The Devil is beneath her; she may indeed have a passionate and selfish nature.

The 9 of cups behind her; she’s getting past greed and self-indulgence.

Knight of swords before her; she’s learning, but it’s not going to be easy.

Knight of wands in the position Self: she has a passionate, willful nature. Clearly, from the rest of the reading, this is a challenge for her to control.

5 of pentacles in her House; poverty or perceived poverty is a limiting factor for her.

Queen of cups in Hopes and Fears; all she really wants is to be loved, but she’s afraid she is not lovable.

Judgment in outcome; insight and self-evaluation will lead to wisdom.

——-

Don’t try to take vengeance on her. Instead, offer to help her in her self-transformation.

TarotTrumps answers:

Memorizing the book meanings is one thing, but you really should work with each card and take notes on what they say to you. Pull one a day, or every few days as time allows, and meditate on it, take notes. Learning to really interpret the cards individually and then in respect to each other within a reading takes time and practice. The more you work with them, the easier it will come. They are, after all, a tool to help you with your personal growth.

is the minor arcana set in stone?(tarot)?

someone told me there were diffrent meanings between tarot cards, that a reading with more major would be less certain or vice versa, i am not quite sure… i had a reading with more minor arcana cards in my reading… is there little or MORE chance that they might change?

she said that one of them could change, the other was more certain… which one?

TarotTrumps answers:

If your reading contained more minor than major cards it is more likely that the reading pertained to your life right now. Major Arcana cards refer to the ‘life changing’ moments, minor arcana refer to the everyday, day to day things.

Also it isn’t so much that the cards will change as your choices that you make will. The cards can only advise…they can predict what will happen if you do ‘a’ but if you choose to do ‘b’…the cards will show a different scenario…of course.

A question for tarot readers?

Do you believe that any of the Major Arcana are more significant than others?

Do you think any are less important?

Could the amount of Major Arcana in a deck be reduced by combining two or more of cards with the simaler meanings?

If so what would you call the replacement cards?
Try to tackle this question as though you were creating a new tarot deck for yourself.

TarotTrumps answers:

First off ALL of the cards live inside the Fool. So in some ways he is the ONLY card in the deck. It would however make it very hard to read While there are literally hundreds of decks out now, I have only found a few of them at all useful for reading. The corrospondences are very important for me and I use them for more than just divinatory purposes. While many of the decks are gorgeous if they do not follow a few basic guidelines for me, they do me no good other than as art.

Each of the Trumps (from the Roman Triumps – parades) represent a Hebrew letter and a path on the Tree of Life. To combine them or to omit them would throw the whole process out of balance. There are 3 Mother Letters representing the 3 ancient elements. There are 7 double letters representing the 7 ancient planets. Then there are 12 single letters representing the zodiac houses. The court cards are elemental and the pips are the sephiroth on the Tree of Life. So to get rid of one would cause some issues! They are not abritrary but there for very good reasons.

I read from the Thoth deck and while they may have been adjusted all are represented. A more important point of the Tarot is that each of the cards has an astral corrospondence. So each of those cards GOES somewhere. Somewhere specific.Moving them would cause serious issues.

Good luck and enjoy the journey!
